Cool Daddy Rat

Ace hides inside his daddy’s bass case to go – everyplace! The rhythms of the words mimic jazz melodies as Ace and his father play music all over New York. They watch “a mime stare in Times Square” and “scat for a Fat Cat.” My son loves the cadence of the lines, and the watercolor illustrations led to “silhouette” being one of his first words. Giggle factor: not applicable. Adult enjoyment: likely. Illustrations: four jelly jars.
