We’re Riding on a Caravan

The sing-song rhythms and detailed illustrations has made this book one of James’ favorites since before his first birthday, even though the book is clearly meant for older kids. (It includes a map of the Silk Road that we haven’t gotten to yet.) We’ve since gone on many an overseas adventure with Laurie Krebs, but Riding on a Caravan remains James’ favorite. Reading tip: place child on lap and bounce him in time to the rhythm of the camels. Occasionally let him fall off. Giggle factor: depends on the amount of bouncing. Adult enjoyment: if you like art. Illustrations: Four jelly jars with some additional points for the incredible marbling. To see a preview on Google Books, click here.
